With the success of Double Dragon, and Double Dragon II: The Revenge, Technos released Double Dragon 3: The Rosetta Stone to arcades in 1990. The final arcade release of the series had a few changes made to give gamer's something different, and a new game to dump their quarters into.
The plot of Double Dragon 3 begins with battling the street gang from the previous two releases, but in this final release, the plot is a bit different and sends the brothers to different locations around the world in search of the Rosetta Stones, including the United States, Egypt, Rome, and Japan. Among the other changes, the original hero's Billy and Jimmy are now joined by Sonny in three player action, changing up the game play a bit from the first two releases in the series.
Double Dragon 3: The Rosetta Stone features the three hero's Billy, Jimmy, and Sonny, with two or three player modes, and special weapons stores. With a twist in the previous plots, the final version of Double Dragon arcade games gives players a more in depth plot, and the same side scrolling fighting action they had come to expect.
When the Atari VCS launches, Double Dragon, Double Dragon II: The Revenge, and Double Dragon 3: The Rosetta Stone will be three games to definitely look for on the Exclusive Atari Antstream game streaming service. With the partnership between Atari and Anstream, the Double Dragon arcade series should be available to play on the Atari VCS Anstream service, which will give gamer's hours of multiplayer fighting fun.
